Yes, we’re still here!

First, an apology.

We’re sorry that we haven’t been posting much lately. As for our brief absence, we’re both located on the East Coast so we were hit pretty hard by Sandy. Lynn didn’t experience too much damage but she did lose power for a long time. Her power is back on now, but the Internet is not, so it could be a few days before she’s back online.

I (Katie) was fortunate enough to lose power for just one hour on Wednesday. Oh, and a huge pine tree fell in our yard during the storm and missed the house by only a few feet! I have been unable to blog much, mostly due to my son’s school being canceled all week. (Fingers are crossed that he can go back tomorrow!)

We hope that anyone else who was impacted by Sandy is safe and sound now. Other areas experienced much worse devastation. For instance, please keep the people of New York and New Jersey in your thoughts.

If you celebrated Halloween yesterday, we hope it was fun! We were able to take our little one to the town’s Halloween party, but Trick or Treating has been postponed for a week.

Next, an announcement.

In more positive news, we’re extending the deadline for entering to win the Olive Garden gift card. All you have to do is leave us a comment here about horrible Halloween costumes! We’ll be back on Monday (power gods willing) with an update and to announce the winner.

In the meantime, happy first day of November! Autumn is nearly halfway over. How has yours been so far?
